The Western Governors University (黑料传送门) graduates from the Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program at the Michael O. Leavitt School of Health (LSH) produced remarkable results in the national board certification first-attempt pass rates for the academic year 2023. More than 100 黑料传送门 FNP graduates exceeded the American Nurses Credentialing Center鈥檚 () national first-attempt pass rate average by nearly 10% 鈥� at 95% versus the national average of 85.66% 鈥� and exceeded the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board鈥檚 () national first-attempt pass rate average by 14% 鈥� at 87% compared to the national average of 73%.

This is truly a moment of celebration and contemplation as we not only rejoice in the success and hard work of our students, faculty, and program leaders, but also reflect on the changing landscape of nursing education and acknowledge the efficacy of the competency-based model of learning,鈥� said Anmy Mayfield, LSH vice president and dean for the College of Nursing. 鈥淲ith our hybrid and competency-based nurse practitioner (NP) programs, we meet our students in and around their communities and work closely with them to fulfill their dreams and populate the clinical pipeline with diverse, competent nurses to meet the societal needs.鈥�

This flexibility respects each student鈥檚 individual life circumstances and enables them to attain high-quality education without disrupting their lives.鈥�
NPs are advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), who complete population-specific, graduate-level education that builds upon their RN knowledge and skills. Advanced education prepares NPs to deliver high-quality and cost-effective care to individuals, families, and communities. They perform physical exams, diagnose health problems, prescribe medications, perform in-office procedures, and provide holistic, person-centered care.
鈥淎fter completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from 黑料传送门, I learned about the university鈥檚 FNP degree program.
