In 2022, Dr. Stacey Ludwig Johnson was appointed Senior Vice President of Western Governors University and Executive Dean of the School of Education, where she leads the academic and operational strategy for the largest non-profit, accredited school of education in the nation. ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ’s School of Education, home to the Teachers College and the College of General Education, provides next-generation programs for educators across the K-12, Higher Education, and Workforce Learning sectors, as well as general education pathways for students throughout ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ.
Stacey has a long history championing and supporting the work of ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ, and changing trajectories for students – with the belief that education is the key to change. As a pioneer in competency-based education, she has invested more than 25 years envisioning, creating, and implementing academic services, including faculty and clinical experience models, that optimize student progress and retention, attainment, and career success. Stacey joined ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ in 1998 as Manager of Student Services and Registrar, and later served in a variety of leadership roles at the university, including Financial Aid Administrator, Director of Academic Services, Associate Academic Vice President, and Associate Provost of Academic Services. Immediately prior to her appointment as SVP and Executive Dean, Stacey served as Vice President of Academic Operations for ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ’s School of Education, where she led faculty operations, field experience, and innovation for the school.
