B.S. Computer Science Outcomes
Program Outcomes
Program Outcomes are the following:
PO1. The graduate applies core information technology skills in IT systems, operating systems, networking, security, scripting and programming, data management, project management, and web development to support organizational functions.
PO2. The graduate will be able to solve computing problems using critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
PO3. The graduate will be able to develop secure software systems to support organizational goals and needs.
PO4. The graduate will be able to analyze the impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society in relation to professional, social, ethical, legal, security, business, and global issues and responsibilities.
PO5. The graduate will be able to create computer-based solutions using autonomous frameworks and algorithms.
PO6. The graduate will be able to use effective communication and team-focused skills and recognize the need for professional development and life-long learning.
Program Educational Objectives
Three to four years after graduation from the BS in Computer Science program, graduates will:
- Hold professional positions in a computing-related occupation or pursue advanced study in computer science or a related field or interest.
- Be engaged professionals who provide technical leadership and service to their business, profession, or community.
- Successfully adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies to remain current in their occupation.
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the program will have an ability to:
CAC1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
CAC2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
CAC3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
CAC4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
CAC5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
CAC6. Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
